TO BUY A COMPLETE SKATEBOARD

Probably the most straightforward way of buying a deck is to purchase a “complete” deck. Many shops stock different types and according to which brand you go for, differs in price.

SIZE

For beginners or children aged between 5-8 years of age it is recommend between 7.25” to 7.75” but if your child is 9+ they can have think about having a deck between 8.00” to 8.25”.

Length - The length of the skateboard is measured from the tip of the nose to the tip of the tail. Average board length is 28″- 32″ but length is only referred to by advanced skaters.

TYPES OF BOARDS

Micro Deck width: 6.5″ – 6.75” – Deck length: 27.2” – 27.6”
For skaters 4 years or younger, under 3’5” tall who wear a size 3 shoe or smaller

Mini Deck width: 7.25″ - 7.5”– Deck length: 28” - 31”
For skaters 5 to 7 years old between 3’5” and 4’4” tall who wear size 4-6 shoes

Mid-size Deck width: 7.5” – 7.75” Deck length: 29” – 31.5”
For skaters 8 to 12 years old between 4’5” and 5’2” tall who wear size 7-8 shoes

Decks deck: 8.00 – 8.25” Deck length 31”
For all skaters over age 13, taller than 5’3” with a shoe size of 9 and up. However, individual skating style will determine deck size for these decks:

Please note this is only a guideline. The boards we use on our club and that we sell are between 7.25” - 7.75” (width) and either 29” – 31” (deck length) the children find them comfortable to use.

 

MAKE YOUR OWN CUSTOMED SKATEBOARD

GRIP TAPE AND DECK the graphics on the bottom of the board is completely up to you design. Grip tape normally comes free with board.
BEARINGS AND BOLTS it is worth spending a little bit more on your bearings. These are possibly the best bearings on the market. Bolts - you can get standard fracture bolts as they last long and provide a good fit.
TRUCKS the venture 5.8 truck is on the pricey side as each truck is £19.99 as you need two per skateboard.
WHEELS We recommend Fracture Wheels which are perfect for beginners. Cheap wheels can be found on routeone website.
